Nonimmigrant Visa Appointments
You may make an appointment using our on-line service or by phoning the call center and speaking to an operator. Appointments are made by both options on a first-come, first-served basis. Before requesting an appointment, please check the U. S. Department of State website and choose the location “Paris”. If you need an earlier appointment, you must use the live operator service. Do not contact the U.S. Embassy in Paris by phone or fax to request an appointment.
On-line Appointments
This service is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week; a fee of $14.00 (in Euros) is charged, which permits up to five family members to schedule their visa appointment together. Please visit www.usvisa-france.com for more information and to begin the appointment process.
Call Center
This live operator service is also available Monday through Friday from 08:30 until 17:00. The fee is 14,50 euros per call.

Student and Exchange Visitors
As noted above, appointments are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not request a visa using the on-line service if the available appointments are later than the start of your program in the United States as specified on the forms I-20 or DS 2019. You should use the live operator service and provide the operator the start date of your program. If no appointment is available at the appropriate time, the call center will add your name to a wait list and get in touch with you later. Our customer service commitment to visa applicants who need a student or exchange visitor visa (F or J visa) is that we will provide an appointment before the start date of the U.S. program.
Treaty Trader/ Investor Visa Applicants
Those who are seeking an “E” visa as a treaty trader or investor should not/not schedule an appointment either on-line or with the call center. The “E” visa process is significantly different from other categories. Applicants should mail the supporting documentation for their visa to the following address:

The “E” visa unit will analyze the documentation first. This will take several weeks. There is no expedited service for E visa applicants. Once the pre-screening phase is complete, the “E” visa unit will provide the applicant an appointment for their interview.
Diplomatic/Official Visas
Diplomats and military and civilian government officials traveling to the United States to conduct business on behalf of a government recognized by the United States or on behalf of a multilateral organization must have a visa for that purpose (A or G visa). Such individuals (or their representatives) must drop off their visa applications Monday through Thursday between 13:00 and 14:00 at the consular section (4 avenue Gabriel). A diplomatic note or appropriate communication from an international organization is required in all cases.
French officials normally obtain the appropriate diplomatic note from the French Foreign Ministry’s “Bureau des visas et des passeports diplomatiques.” Career employees of the Ministry of Finance should contact the “Bureau des missions”. French military personnel should contact their “Bureau des passages.”
