Statement by Ambassador Rivkin on the passing of Richard Descoings, Director of L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Richard Descoings, Director of l'Institut d'études politiques de Paris. Monsieur Descoings' leadership of Sciences Po for the past 16 years was characterized by a staunch commitment to academic excellence and to promoting equality of educational opportunity. His devotion to opening Sciences Po to international students, including many Americans, was admirable. Monsieur Descoings will be truly missed, but his legacy will endure.
