2009-H1N1 Influenza General Information

Vaccines for U.S. Citizens in France

It is our understanding that American citizens who subscribe to the French social security system will be notified by their local social security office (Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie) when they may receive the free H1N1 vaccine.  American citizens who do not subscribe to the French social security system may contact their personal physician to request a prescription for H1N1 vaccine (when available) and the name of the person who will administer the vaccine.  American citizens visiting France may contact an English-speaking physician listed on the Embassy webpage:
http://france.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/paris-doctors.pdf.  Priority for the vaccinations will be given to health professionals, women in the second trimester of pregnancy, families of newborns, and other vulnerable populations.
