On the occasion of the New York Philharmonic’s performances at Salle Pleyel on February 1- 2, the Ambassador hosted a chamber music concert by the orchestra’s main soloists. Under the artistic direction of young New Yorker Alan Gilbert, the orchestra is touring Europe presenting concerts in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, England and France. Founded in 1842, The New York Philharmonic is the oldest symphony orchestra in the United States and considered to be among America’s leading orchestras. 130 guests attended, including the philharmonic’s global patron Credit Suisse, a delegation of US patrons lead by New York Philharmonic Orchestra's Executive Director Zarin Mehta, ambassadorial guests and French contacts in the music field.
