Ambassador Charles H.  Rivkin visited McDonald’s Recruitment & Skills Training Center (Centre de l’Emploi et des Métiers) in Paris on June 14, where he met with several key members of McDonald’s team in France, including Jean-Pierre Petit, CEO France and President Southern Europe Division for McDonald’s Corporation.

Mr. Petit and his team shared an overview of McDonald’s successful adaptation to the French market over the past 30 years and highlighted their achievements, including youth hiring practices, use of local suppliers in France, and environmentally-friendly policies.

France is McDonald’s second largest market worldwide and McDonald’s France and its franchisees employ 66,000 people in 1,228 restaurants. McDonald’s has become a leader in promoting diversity through their recruiting and training programs and has been rated the 6th best place to work by an independent survey.

Ambassador Rivkin’s visit coincided with “Global Economic Statecraft Day,” as declared by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  The Ambassador’s visit supported the goals of the day by promoting U.S. businesses at home and abroad.
