Building the Future of Franco-American Organizations

October 26

The Embassy organized a daylong seminar on ‘Building the Future of Franco-American Organizations’ structured in the form of capacity-building workshops for 100 leaders of Franco-American associations based in France. These organizations are numerous, diverse and in their sum crucial to sustaining Franco-American friendship over the long term; envisioning their future at a time of new global challenges and economic crisis is a key element of the embassy’s strategic mission.

During the course of the seminar, the following themes were discussed:

1. How to reconcile vision and mission in a changing world?

2. Franco-American associations and governance, general organization and membership participation;

3. Developing financial resources;

4. Which communication method to adopt?

5. How to benefit from the leverage of partnerships

6. How to further develop a virtual hub for institutions promoting Franco-American relations, called “the American Center France”? The Embassy’s Public Affairs team presented a pilot of this new website at the end of the seminar and garnered great interest from the participants.
