Film Screening of "Generation Fame" at the Ambassador's Residence

October 5, 2009

Continuing with the successful film screening series at the Ambassador’s Residence, the embassy had the opportunity to show ‘Generation Fame’ for a youth audience.  A reinvention of the original Oscar-winning hit film, Fame follows a talented group of young dancers, singers, actors and artists at the New York City High School of Performing Arts -- a diverse, creative powerhouse where students from all walks of life are given a chance to live out their dreams and achieve real and lasting fame. Guests included school groups from the Paris region’s underserved communities, young people whose arts’ associations have benefited from our public affairs grants, young professionals and newly arrived Fulbright American grantees. This screening helped us reach out to the youth looking for inspirational role models and at the same time delivered a message of tolerance, hope, hard work and dedication.
