International Roma Day Celebrated in Paris at the Fondation des Etats Unis

U.S. Embassies throughout Europe recognize International Roma Day on April 8 each year. This year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave a video address about International Roma Day, calling for greater opportunity and recognition for Europe’s largest minority. The public affairs office in Paris showed this video and organized with the Association Voix des Rroms (The Voice of the Romani People) a concert and discussion for the Roma community of Paris and other invitees at the “Fondation des Etats Unis”. This event featured two young Romani musicians who performed both a classical and Romani repertoire.
