President Obama's visit to Strasbourg for the NATO Summit

From March 31 to April 7, 2009 : President and Mrs. Obama visit the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Turkey

April 3-4, 2009 : Nato summit celebrates the 60th anniversary of the alliance in the French city of Strasbourg and German city of Baden-Baden. At the same time, France is returning to the alliance’s integrated military structure. 

  • April 03:  President Obama participates in meetings with President Sarkozy
  • April 03 : President Obama participates in a Town Hall meeting. He will be giving a speech and taking some questions from students from throughout Europe and discussing the transatlantic alliance.
  • April 04 : It will be a full day of NATO North Atlantic Council meetings, wherein the President and the Alliance will discuss a range of issues.
