Reception in honor of the San Francisco - Paris  Sister City Committee

Chargé d’Affaires Mark Pekala welcomed a delegation of city officials from San Francisco, led by Mayor Gavin Newsom.  The members of the American delegation, in Paris to meet with Mayor Delanoe and city officials, are strengthening their collaboration with local authorities and business companies such as SNCF to develop partnerships.  The reception, held at the Ambassador’s Residence, was an opportunity for the delegation to meet with approximately 70 guests including Paris city hall representatives, MFA representatives, business people and other contacts involved in developing links between San Francisco and Paris.  Mayor of Paris Delanoe and Mayor of San Francisco Newsom signed a memorandum of cooperation for 2009-2011, in order to reinforce their ties in digital, economic and cultural cooperation.
