Embassy Expert Speaks on Biofuels

Marvin Duncan, Senior Economist, Office of Energy Policy, at the U.S. Department of Agriculture participated in a seminar on the future of biofuels with representatives of the French corn growers, biodiesel industry and bioethanol industry.  He also gave a more formal presentation on “Industrial Biomass and Biofuels in the United States.”

The audience of around 70 people included farmers, consultants, researchers, businessmen, students and journalists.  Marvin Duncan, in assessing future developments in the biofuel industry, emphasized policy initiatives taken by the current administration and congressional support for renewable energies.
