Jazz Appreciation Month celebrated at the Ambassador's Residence

Ambassador Stapleton hosted a concert in celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month with US citizens and Paris residents soprano Alison England and pianist Jay Gottlieb who performed an all American repertoire of Broadway musicals. Traditionally taking place in the U.S. in April, Jazz Appreciation Month is recognized by Congress and implemented by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. US embassies throughout the world organize programs to celebrate America’s great original art form of jazz. England and Gottlied interpreted hits from Cabaret, Follies, The Phamtom of the Opera, music of George Gershwin and songs of Judy Garland, etc...
