First ambassadorial visit to world renowned Paris School of Fine Arts

April 14, 2008

Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) is France’s top school of fine arts as well as the depository of a major and very valuable art collection. Its history relates to the US: from 1860-1940, over 500 American architects were graduates, including Richard Morris Hunt, H. H. Richardson and his protégé Charles McKim, John M. Carrère and Thomas Hastings. There is a memorial dedicated to the Ecole's Alumni who died during WW1 and WW2, on which the Ambassador laid a wreath.
