A concert to celebrate Blues-sur-Seine festival's 10th anniversary at the Ambassador's Residence
April 9
Ambassador Stepleton hosted a reception in honor of Blues-sur-Seine festival's recent achievement in winning the 2008 "Keeping the Blues Alive" Award. This reception was co-hosted with the American Chamber of Commerce. In its 10th edition, this festival encourages mutual understanding in the western suburbs of Paris via the blues. The festival has succeeded in drawing international attention to French blues artists, and helped to encourage a French line of blues with a strong African component. The 90 guests included mainly members of the US Chamber of Commerce's President Council, current institutional and corporate sponsors to speak for the festival. Franco-Cameroonian Blues singer Roland Tchakounté performed some of his repertoire.
