Jazz Ambassadors 2004
The Jazz Ambassadors Program, co-sponsored by the Department of State and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, sends selected professional American jazz musicians on concert tours in many countries. The 2004 Jazz Ambassadors program will mark the sixth anniversary of the Department of State and Kennedy Center partnership.
The American Embassy in Paris and the Consulate General of Marseille organised the French tour of the "Cynthia Scott and the JAS Trio". On March 22-23, 2004, Cynthia Scott and the JAS Trio (Steve Ash, Joseph Lepore, Alvin R. Atkinson) visit the children of the Louise-Michel Junior High School, in Clichy-sous-Bois (near Paris). The following evening Cynthia and the Trio give a performance at the Hôtel Talleyrand.
