Online Appointment System for Passport Services Requiring a Personal Appearance at the U.S. Consulate General in Paris

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE GOING TO OUR ONLINE APPOINTMENT PAGE

IMPORTANT GENERAL INFORMATION:  Since December 2008, an online appointment system has been available for most passport services requiring a personal appearance in Paris.

When you enter your appointment information please remember:
“Surname” means “Last Name”
and
“Given Name” means “First Name

Passport forms and instructions:  Please read all the instructions and complete all forms (do not sign them) for the service you have requested.  Failure to submit a complete and correct application will delay your case.

When you schedule your appointment, print the appointment details webpage and keep the password for use in case of cancellation or modification of your date.

CHILDREN:
Look at your children’s passports well in advance of the vacation periods in order to renew their documents in a timely fashion before the expiration date.

Appointments for passport renewals for children under 16 are provided Monday through Friday at 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday afternoons (1:30 and 2:00 p.m.).  No other times are available for children’s appointments.  It is your responsibility to select only these times.  If you deliberately schedule a 9:00 or 9:30 a.m. appointment, which are reserved for adults, your appointment will be cancelled.

Appointment times:  If you do not see times designated for children (10:00, 10:30) on the date you select that is because all the children’s appointments for that day are already fully booked.  You need to choose a new date.

More than one child:  If you have more than one child to schedule, please do the best you can to schedule them together.  Each child must have an individual appointment. The website is closely monitored and you will get help later.  If you must schedule your children at separate times or on separate days, please help the embassy determine your first choice (second choice, third choice) by listing your children in alphabetical order by first name, with the first child taking the time you would most prefer.  We will try to give you your highest choice.

Applicants aged 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 may currently schedule appointments during children or adult appointment times.

ADULTS
Adults are strongly encouraged to apply for passport renewal by mail, unless your previous passport is lost, stolen, damaged or mutilated.  Appointments for adult passport services are provided Monday through Friday at 9:00 and 9:30 a.m.  No other times are available for adult passport appointments.  It is your responsibility to select only 9:00 and 9:30 appointments.  If you deliberately schedule an appointment at any other time your appointment will be cancelled.

Applicants aged 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 may currently schedule appointments during children or adult appointment times.

ONLINE APPOINTMENTS: EXCEPTIONS

LOST/STOLEN PASSPORTS
If your passport has been lost or stolen, and your travel is imminent, the U.S. Embassy will accept your application on a walk-in basis.  You do not need to make an appointment.  Please come into the waiting room of the Consular Section of the Embassy between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (the earlier the better if you require same-day issuance).  We cannot guarantee that we can provide a passport before the end of the day if you arrive after 11:00 a.m.

If you must re-schedule your flight because of a lost or stolen passport, you should make your new reservations for the day after your visit.  We cannot guarantee that we can issue a passport in time for same-day travel.  For more information and forms please click here.

EMERGENCY CASES
If you have known that your passport will expire next week, or expired last month, this is not considered an emergency and you will not be issued an emergency passport.  In this case, please read the information provided above, under children and adult appointments, in order to select the correct passport service and schedule your appointment.

If you need a passport in an emergency situation, you may apply for a passport on a walk-in basis in the following cases:

A. Your passport was lost, stolen, damaged or mutilated;

B. Your request is due to a sudden, unexpected occurrence or relates to an unexpected event, such as a death in the family or a medical problem;

C. Your emergency situation does not meet the above criteria but is severe enough to warrant emergency action.

In these cases the U.S. Embassy will consider your application on a walk-in basis and you do not need to make an appointment.  Please come into the waiting room of the Consular Section of the Embassy between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (the earlier the better if you require same-day issuance).  We cannot guarantee that we can provide a passport before the end of the day if you arrive after 11:00 a.m.
