Queries related to US border controls and reception at U.S. ports of entry may be directed to the Department of Homeland Security’s Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (DHS TRIP) at This program provides a single point of contact for individuals who have inquiries or seek resolution regarding difficulties they experienced during their travel screening at airports or train stations or crossing U.S. borders, including:

.  Denied or delayed airline boarding;

.  Denied or delayed entry into and exit from the United States at a port of entry; or

.  Continuously referred to secondary screening.

You may write to the American Citizen Services e-mail boxes which are monitored weekdays during business hours.  Please note that we only reply to questions that cannot be answered by referring to the American Citizen Services website pages; we do not answer French or U.S. visa questions from these email boxes.

The Embassy cannot act as a booking agent for airlines, train companies, or hotels, and travelers should inquire directly with these entities for information about cancelled flights or other disruptions to planned travel.  However, travelers who find themselves stranded or otherwise without resources or means of assistance can contact the Embassy for assistance.
