APP Bordeaux

Due to the small nature of the U.S. diplomatic presence in Bordeaux, there are different procedures from the Embassy in Paris.
- The American Present Post in Bordeaux (APP Bordeaux) is open ONLY to individuals who have made appointments in advance – walk-ins are not allowed.
- APP Bordeaux accepts only “mandat-cash” payments (available at any post office), and services such as passports and consular reports of birth abroad can be paid for with either “mandat-cash” or credit cards.
- As all APP Bordeaux-submitted passport applications go through the American Embassy in Paris, applications accepted in Bordeaux take approximately one week longer than in Paris. If a passport application submitted in Paris takes 2-3 weeks before the new passport arrives, then the same application would take 3-4 weeks if initiated in Bordeaux. Anyone requiring a passport in less than three weeks should not apply through APP Bordeaux.
