Appointments for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad

Please note that the designated slot on the online appointment page that you will be referred to is for Consular Reports of Birth Abroad only (with or without the first passport application accompanying it).

  • Report the birth abroad of a child of a U.S. citizen and/or apply for the child's first passport, Report of Birth and Social Security Number

No other types of passport applications will be accepted during these appointment times.

Once you have scheduled your child’s appointment, please arrive at the Embassy at the designated time for the appointment you have chosen.  Late arrivals may be turned away and will have to return for a new appointment three weeks later.  The time of your appointment is the time you should be at the front door to go through security processing.

MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT HERE.

For other instances of first passport applications (applicants with naturalization certificates, IR-2 visas, U.S. birth certificates), or if you only want to apply for a first passport, but not a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, all of these  cases should be scheduled
on this website page under:

  • Passport services other than adding pages

You may refer to the main passport webpage for all other types of passport applications.

Security at the Embassy

Please do not bring any electronic devices, such as laptop computers, Blackberries, iPods, or large bags, such as backpacks, suitcases or packages to the Consular Section as there are no storage facilities on Embassy grounds.   Security guards may hold small tourist cameras and cell phones until your departure, but there is no storage available for any other large items or electronic devices — please do not bring them at the time of your appointment.
